Euskotren is the public transport company dependent on the Basque Government that stands as one of the largest operators in the sector in its territorial area. It manages train, metro, tram and bus services.
Euskotren Tranbia has a single line that connects various neighborhoods of the city. It departs from the Atxuri station and arrives at the La Casilla stop through 12 stops in different areas of cultural interest and services such as the Casco Viejo, the Mercado de la Ribera, the Arriaga Theater, the Abando Indalecio Prieto station, the Guggenheim Museum, the Euskalduna Palace, the San Mamés Stadium, the Bilbao School of Engineering, the University of Deusto or the Basurto Hospital.
It is defined as "a universal mode of transport adapted to the needs of people with functional diversity". To this end, architectural barriers have been removed, 2 of its 192 spaces are reserved for people with reduced mobility and it is equipped with tools such as: information at stops in Braille, height of accessible information panels, vending machine and cancellation mode for people with diversity. visual, with a cyberpass to locate the vending machine with messages in “Mode T” and Braille and double cancellation height, and finally, intercom in “Mode T”. The Tram units also have accessible emergency opening and intercom systems, a public address system for people with hearing problems and an acoustic door position system for blind people.
