Bilbao airport is located 12 km from the city of Bilbao. It is the most important airport on the Cantabrian coast in terms of number of travelers and economic impact. A large part of the airport services and the cargo terminal are located in the municipality of Sondika, while the new terminal, designed by Santiago Calatrava, is in Loiu.
The circulation inside is accessible to wheelchair users. It has 5 meeting points for assistance to people with reduced mobility as well as a cafeteria, rest and meeting rooms, adapted toilets, parking with places reserved for PRM, car rental service, taxi and bus stop.
It can be accessed by adapted public transport. Bizkaibus line A3247 connects the Bilbao bus terminal (Bilbao Intermodal, former Termibus) with the airport, with stops at Gran Vía 79, Plaza Moyua and Alameda Recalde 11. There is a customer service desk on the arrivals floor and ticket sales. The Pesa company has lines to Zarautz - San Sebastión and Eibar-Bergara-Arrasate. If you are a wheelchair user, when the route is greater than 40km, you must notify at least 24 hours in advance.
The airport has a free assistance service for passengers with reduced mobility. You can request it by phone or through the AENA mobile application form.
