Other accessibility needs
Córdoba's urban transport is managed by the company AUCORSA, Córdoba's urban buses.
Córdoba's urban buses incorporate solutions based on the concepts of Universal Accessibility and Design for All.
98% of the buses used by AUCORSA have a continuous low-floor configuration made of non-slip and anti-glare material.
All these vehicles have a tilting system that reduces the height between the bus floor and the ground, making it easier to access. They also have a ramp for the disabled.
As an improvement in accessibility for people with visual impairments, the color of the interior bars is being changed to yellow. This color will become a standard in the coming years.
ONBOARD ACOUSTIC INFORMATION SYSTEM (SIENA)
Currently, 130 of the vehicles have an internal passenger information system, through written and oral messages, which informs about the next stop, destination and time. It shows the next stop on an interior display, along with time and day information. Sound messages are also emitted by the public address system of the bus, notifying the next stop and destination at the start of the journey.
This system incorporates an external acoustic and light warning device that informs about the number of the bus line and its direction, in addition to facilitating the location of the front door.
People with visual or hearing disabilities may access the bus in the company of guide dogs.
